This fantastic and unique workshop addresses the challenges of conducting Sibelius' Symphony No. 2, Mozart's Symphony No. 38, plus the Overture to Don Giovanni, and opera arias and recitatives with singers.
Twelve (12) selected conductors will receive generous podium time in rehearsal and performance of selected movements and works, including:
Sibelius Symphony No. 2 in D, Op. 43 I. Allegretto II. Tempo andante, ma rubato
Mozart Symphony No. 38 in D. K. 504 I. Adagio - Allego II. Andante
Mozart Overture to Don Giovanni
Mozart Le Nozze di Figaro #20 - Recitative and Aria: "E Susanna no vien...."Dove sono" (Countess) #28 - Recitative and Aria: "Giunse alfin il momento"....."Deh vieni non tardar" (Susanna) Mozart Cosi fan tutte #14 - Recitative and Aria: "Temerari, sortite"..."Come scoglio"
CONDUCTORS -
Twelve (12) participating conductors will be selected from the completed and submitted applications. Six (6) or more auditor conductors will participate in this workshop and will receive limited podium time. All participating conductors are expected to attend all sessions. All participating conductors are expected to be members of the International Conductors Guild.

TUITION - Selected participating conductors - $2,500 Selected auditing conductors - $1,500 All tuition payments must be completed prior to the workshop. Payment information will be shared with the participating conductors.
ORCHESTRA-
UCLA Philharmonia is the flagship orchestra of the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and is recognized as one of the finest training orchestras in Southern CA. The orchestra will include current UCLA students and alumni.
PARTICIPANT TRANSPORTATION AND HOUSING - Transportation and housing will be the responsibility of the selected conductors and auditors
LOCATION - Rehearsals, lectures, and other sessions and the performance will take place at UCLA's Schoenberg Music Building -
